The Kendrick “Work on Your Own” Amp Camp is a
one-day workshop, hosted by Gerald Weber,
President of Kendrick Amplifiers. more...

The event takes place at the Kendrick factory located in the beautiful hill country of Kempner, Texas. Enrollment is limited. In the “Work on Your Own” Amp Camp, participants bring their amps to work on under our guidance and supervision. On the Friday evening before the Amp Camp, participants are invited to an open mike jam session at Gerald Weber’s recording studio near Austin. It just so happens that the two best Bar B Q places in Texas are only minutes from the studio, so we have developed the tradition of eating Bar B Q and lifting suds before the jam session. The next morning, we start working on amps at 10 AM and there is no telling when it will end. Sometimes it will go until 2 or 3 AM the next morning.
You don't need to bring anything except your desire to learn and an amp or two. We will help you diagnose, test and service the amps you bring and we will make recommendations based on your personalized tone you are going for. At the end of the day, your amps will sound great and they will be done right. We have in stock almost any electronic component you could possibly need and all parts will be 40% off during the amp camp.
Whether you are an amp technician or a player just wanting to know more about tube amp tone, there is something here for you. The overall topic is Tube Guitar Amplifiers which could also include troubleshooting, repair, modifications, design, voicing, tone controls, preamp gain stages, power supplies, Class A, Class AB, speakers, transformers, AC current, DC current, overhauling, voltage dividers, voltage multipliers, rectifiers, push-pull, phase inverters, etc. Besides the wealth of information available, you will meet and become friends with other amp enthusiasts that are equally obsessed with tube tone.
I promise you will be talking about this event for the rest of your life. I predict that years from now you will still be telling stories of the "ah ha" moments that you wouldn't have gotten otherwise. And besides that, your friends will get sick of hearing about how great the Bar B Q was. But besides all the learning about tube tone, there are relationships you will most certainly create with the other people in the seminar. These are people like you, that you will want to stay in touch with. So besides everything else, you will make friends with other musicians that have interests in tube amps. It’s a lot cheaper than older cars and younger women and it’s the most fun a tube tone addict can have with his clothes on.
Enrollment is limited. Tuition is $499. Terms: $200 deposit at time of enrollment and the balance 30 days before the event. (Graduates from any previous Amp Camp or Tube Amp Seminar automatically receive a $100 scholarship towards this Amp Camp). After you are enrolled, email us a paragraph or two about who you are, your experience level and what you intend to get from your participation in the seminar. We will email to you a list of area motels and directions to get here.
The Amp Camp is only held at the Kendrick factory in Kempner, Texas near Austin.
