The Texas Crude Series provides the end result of years of experience testing and playing tube guitar amp circuits. The Spindletop and Gusher circuits stayed on a design bench for 2.5 years and were AB tested against hundreds of amps that came through Kendrick's Tube Amp Restoration Department. The Rig circuit evolved over a period of 8 years of actual Gig and Recording testing. Since these amps were originally released in 1994, we have continued to improve them. We can honestly say that we know of no other amps that can compete tonally.
As a player the added sensitivity and responsiveness of these amplifiers will actually affect not only what you play but how you play it. You will find yourself paying more attention to the nuance of your attack much the same as you would pay more attention to the clutch of a Harley after riding a Moped. The feeling of having an amp respond to you will influence what you dare to say musically.
Amps/Texas Crude Series
All Texas Crude Series amps are point-to-point construction and use brass eyeletted epoxy glass component boards. They are built with custom made cloth covered wire and interleaved paper-bobbin custom output transformers. All tube circuitry, tube rectifier and 12AX7 pre-amp tubes are standard.
All cabinets are made with laminated Baltic Birch.
